Insignificant

The smallest piece of dust,
Floating on a breeze,
Sticking to me like glue;
Seems to say so much.

A crumb upon the floor,
To be swept up by a step
Or chewed on by a mouse;
And wonders why "no more?"

The tiniest lump of what,
Sitting in my valley palm,
Smiles and laughs and mocks,
Insignificantly significant.
