Overview

I love to express myself through poetry. When I think of something that makes me ponder, when a light-bulb goes off in my head, when I'm happy or sad, or when I see something beautiful, I like to write it down. This may not be good poetry, but it truely does come from my heart.

A lot of my poetry is Spiritually based and expresses my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Some are about real experiences I've had, and others are about speculation and dreams.

These are just a few of the poems I've wrote. I do only write for fun, but I would love to take suggestions, commentary, critisism, editing/revising notes, etc. Again, I don't consider myself an amazing poet (especially considerding I don't follow any poetry rules), I just like to express myself :)

Here's one of my favorite poems, it's not mine, it's an anonymous poem, but inspiring to me. I'd like to post is at a contribution to the unknown author, and dedicate this blog to whoever they are.

Footprints
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints.
Other times there was one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life
when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow, or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints,
So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me, Lord, that if I followed You, You would walk with me always.
But I noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have been only one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I have needed You most, have You not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“The times when you have see only one set of footprints,
Are those when I have carried you.”
